What does everybody think about a 408

Smallest I would ever go again.... Get a dart sportsman block. Will hold A good amount Of power and will grow with you.

And if your anything like me it never seems to be enough. Go ahead and buy the good stuff first. At least a good block and rotating ass. that way you'll only have to change bolt on stuff down the road

408 is what i want to build next and like already said buy the best the first time and good heads and a 88mm turbo and you in the 9s

Let me give you a piece of advice I learned several years ago. Dont get caught up in chasingg a #. I dont know you or your budget but way too many times I see people get caught up in trying to build way more car than they can afford. Ive made the same mistake. It is better to build a slower car that can that can grow with you and can be driven and enjoyed every year than having a car that sits on jackstands for 5years while you save every dime and penny you can. Thats why with my 427 im just keeping it na for now. I will gradually save up for a turbo but for next year I will enjoy have a litlle slower car than a car that perpetually sits on jackstands. Good luck with whatever way you go

Thats some good advice i agree on that but this is were i stand i got a 347 stroker pushing high 11s on na and i got a 150shot i can add too it on dyno with the 150shot was 455hp and 583ft pounds at the wheel probablya good high second ride now my problem ive got a stock block i know i can go with an aftermarket block too handle the power. Eirther way i go i need a new block. Has anybody ever used a stock 351w and build a stroker out off it too push 600 2 700 horse.!

Well said Kenny.

Look at what Timido did. He had a stock block 408 that ran consistent 10.20' n/a and ran I know at least a 9.4's pass with I believe a 150 shot. His car would be the perfect car to emulate. The suspension drivetrain combo was perfectly sorted out. Also something to consider in this time of financial trouble. You can buy someone else's car or project for a whole lot cheaper than you can build one. Seems to be a whole lot of solid 9 sec cars for sale pretty cheap.

Well said!!!! If your budget is tight, you can't go wrong with a carbeurated stroked windsor on spray. By far one the cheapest combos to build, and the block will live at mid to high nines for a long time.
