You wouldn't have to worry about any residule blasting media hiding and then falling into the motor

You can get a product like that at almost any parts store. Its called Aircraft paint remover. It will peel powdercoating and all off. I've used it for many things and it works great. They sell it in spray cans too.

Or I usually powdercoat non air gap intakes for $40-60 depending on the color and that includes stripping.

I have a buddy down in owensville who will either do it for you or let you use his machine for a couple bucks. He has a nice cabinet. I have a HF cabinet I would sell cheap but it is hard to see in.

Dirtydog ask him what he would charge to do it for me i can drop it off and leave it for few days no hurry for it still have to get cam and few other parts before i am putting it on

He said $50-$75 depending on how bad it was.
We will wash it in my washer too so it will be clean and dry when you get it without any worry of sand still in it.

I assumed it is all carboned up and needs cleaned inside and out. Carbon can be hard to break out I figure it will take about 2 hours based on the last one I did.

It would literally be completely stripped inside and out in a 20min bath in my strip tank. I will then completely hose it inside and out, bake it for an hour to burn off any more stuff that may be imbedded in the pores and then blast it. Then it is ready for coating. That is my process

Yeah sounds like a couple hours of work to me. Plus the expense of consumables and supplies. I would say I guessed right on 2 hours.

Yeah but remember when its in my tank I walk away and do something else as well as when its in my oven. Once stripped and baked it only takes 15min to blast it. So I don't have that much time in stripping one. Now to only use the blaster would take a ton more time. The stripper I use is a major time saver.

I have a water based tank but it just cleans the parts much like an industrial dishwasher. The only stripping tank I have wouldn't work well on aluminum...or make that it would strip the aluminum...all the way down into a puddle. Caustic soda I use for removing friction linings off of steel lockup pistons. First time I used it I put it into an aluminum pan...not a good idea. It all spilled out after about 30 minutes. even damaged my concrete.
