Yesterday it POURED rain here in Houston and I had to drive my fox body. I hid the wiring and starter solenoid in the fenders and it does not have wheel liners. Just today I noticed that my fuel pump is coming on randomly while the car is off and parked as if its trying to keep the fuel pressure up. I'm sure its a wiring issue, but I don't know where to start.. help lol

There are a couple of plug-in connectors that are in the the drivers side of the engine bay, near the hood hinges, that go to the fuel pump. If you moved them into the wheel well and they got wet, that could cause you trouble. You may want to check them out, and spray them with dielectric grease. I think the 86-89 cars have two plugs, and the 90-93 cars only have one. It will be part of the main harness.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I think I spoke too soon. The problem seems to be gone tonight, I guess it just needed to thoroughly dry out.

Well my room mate just took out the trash and said he heard a little buzz from it, so it may not be completely done but it has died down for sure. I'll let you guys know how its acting tomorrow.

She still runs and drives fine, I feel like that wouldn't be the case. Also I have that relay located inside by the ecu, is there a way of testing it before I go replacing it?

Blowncobra, If I still lived in Ohio I'd buy you a beer. It was the relay, not that I doubted you. It ended up causing the fuel pump to not come on at the worst times. I had a Hell of a time finding a new one but I finally got it taken care of.

Darn, thanks for the offer but it's too late now lol. Plus you'd have to ship it to Texas.
