Looking to get some input/opinions on a nice restaurant to take my girl to. Any ideas out of the oridnary? Prefer not to go to a Jeff Ruby's place, and Merlot's will be for a few weeks from now.
I am considering Primavista which overlooks the city, or Mitchells Fish Market in Newport. Any better ideas out there? I am personally the type that likes to stick with a place I know, but I want to venture out a little here.

If you want Ribs, gotta go to either Famous Daves in Florence Ky or City Barbeque. They have amazing food.
I'm a big fan of Local 127 (http://mylocal127.com/) and Senate (http://www.senatepub.com/) downtown. We also recently went to Embers (http://www.embersrestaurant.com/) in Kenwood and it was very good...cheaper than Ruby or Merlot but still a very good steak.

Primavista I took my wife there once and eventhow I had reserved a window table I didn't get it something about regulars. I have had better meals at steak an shake!!! And I don't like steak and shake. But I'm sure others would like the food but waaay over priced!! That's my .02. The owner of the company I work for used to live in the penthouse there and he wouldn't eat there either lol.

The Celestial in Mount Adams. Better view than Prima Vista and better food IMHO. Bring your wallet though trust me. BOING!!!!!!!! Embers is also good but Celestial has a grat view of downtown. Go after dark!!!! Bucca is a chain restaurant btw. So if yu are looking for exclusive look elswhere. Not bad food though for a chain.

Well, I have had a couple of others suggest The Celestial as well. I guess I am leaning towards The Celestial or Embers at this point. Thanks for your opinions everyone.

I think i am going to try out Virgil's. The reviews look good for the most part, it is local owned, and seems like food we would both like. I appreciate the input here, I will let you know how it goes.

Another vote for Buca di Beppo for casual Italian food. We have only been to the one in San Francisco but it was wonderful and Im not a huge Italian food guy.

PrimaVista is wonderful. You can't imagine the view at dusk. Jag's in West Chester is also top drawer. Like seafood? Try McCormick & Schmick's down town. :cool2:

Virgil's was on the Food Networks " Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" The food they showed on there looked great! I plan to try it out in the near future

I like Teak, great ambiance, especially on the back patio area in the summer, but IMO both Bangkok Bistro (http://www.bkkbistrohydepark.com/home.html) in Hyde Park (literally right behind my house) and Siam Orchid (http://siamorchidky.com/) in Bellevue have better food. The Beef Pad See Ew at Siam Orchid is some of the best Thai food I've ever had.

I've been told that http://www.boinabraza.com/ is the real deal for Brazilian food from a co-worker who is from Brazil. I'm taking my wife for our anniversary so I'll find out for myself soon.

The Celestial and Primavista are my two favorite high end Restaraunts around Cincy.

I don't understand the negative reviews I have seen on PrimaVista. We've been there several times and have had great experiences. OMG, that view---

Ok, so on this point, one of the coolest and most unique places in greater cincinnati is the riverview 360 at the radisson in covington. I've only been there twice but it is fancy and I've always had a good meal and service. 2 people with an appetizer and wine for the wife is a little under a hundred. Ask to be sat facing the cut in the hill so you will be facing the city around meal time. This place will get you points. Good Luck:bigthumb
