I played bass about 12 years ago, sold my whole rig to pay rent one month in my first apartment. I wish i had kept with it. I had an Ibanez SR 5...it was such a gorgeous bass. Looked just like this:

I took it to Facet and "pawned it", thinking i could come back the following week and get it back...the guy fucked me and said i flat out sold it and he sold it to someone else the next day. That bass cost me a grand, and i pawned it with a Fender amp. I got a whopping $300 for it and it was only 6 months old.

I pick a lil, and in the past couple years I stress LITTLE lol. I have a LP Studio custom, adn custom built Kramer (80's shredder) I mess with from time to time. I actually just sold my 12 string to a buddy not too long ago. I get the itch from time to time, eventually I want another 6 string flat top.

It all starts w/ air guitar man... I swear it. Then you start recognizing notes and sounds while listening to music or watching people play... and when you can finally place those on the fretboard its hard to describe the feeling. I just learned a Slayer song the other day and it was soo bad ass that i was to guess the notes, then looked up the tabs and put it all together....

Your right lol, and I remember the first time I actually played along with a song and matched it note for note. Just an awesome feeling! I always smile when I remember the first time our garage band got our first song tight, and rocked it out like 5 times in a row just to get it better. We used to meet at my garage on wed nights. I was always worried my neighbors would get pissed. So I talked with a few of them, and they said "hell no, we sit on the portch and listen to ya!" lol.:bigthumb Ahh the good ol days!

I wish my dad wouldn't have got it in the first place.. He's a drummer and my brother inherited the talent from him.. All i got was big bones. The maximum amount of drum sets we have had crammed into our tiny house is 6 but we've got 3 at the moment. I never get any sleep... o_o
