I took out the 7.5 and put in a 8.8 in my 83 vert.. The buddy that was helping me cut my emergency brake cable off about a foot from the axle so now i need new ones. Heard something about needing different ones from stock so wanted to make sure,,, thanks for the help,, suggestions please !!!

There are ddifferent ones over the years. You might have to hit a junkyard and get the lever to go with whaatever caable you end up with.
