whats the easiest way without burning a ton of cd's?

You can install a drive emulator and burn to iso files (virtual cd's). Once you have that done then you have the mp3's on the iso and can do whatever you want with them. I know it used to be possible to use programs that would do the conversion, but I haven't looked in a while and I think Apple has stepped up their protection.

I use Daemon Tools to make virtual CDs, then use a program to "rip" each of those CDs into Mp3. Not only do you save CDs but virtual drives rip way faster than physical drives.

Besides, i'm almost certain iTunes has an option now to make Mp3 backups don't they?
