I have a 86 and a explorer intake was installed. It wont stay running if vacuum is hooked up to map sensor. Disconnect it and it will idle as long as you want but it wont rev, it boggs. I usually run carb setups so im a little lost.

You have a vacuum leak somewhere. When you disconnect the map sensor, the computer goes into limp mode and goes full rich, which makes up for the lean condition.

Ive went a capped all the vacuum i dont need. When its idling without the map hooked up i dont hear any leaks and the car idles perfect. Hook the vacuum back up and it dies. If u restart the motor it runs for about 5 seconds and dies. I guess map sensor could be bad but i was told the engine ran fine with stock intake.

I did redo intake gaskets so i know they are installed correctly. This intake is a non egr intake and it has a egr spacer behind the throttle body. I didnt plug it in or hook any vacuum to it because it did create a vacuum leak.

Vacuum is coming off the vacuum tree on firewall so it has a good vacuum source

Changed map sensors and it starts and stays running fine but still boggs if you give it gas quickly or more than 1/4 throttle. Im gonna check fuel pressure this afternoon but if its good then im not sure where to go from there.
