I decided to sell my stangs for now and finish my basement.
Started with a pile of lumber:

Then I got started on all the plumbing. Had to move the water heater, all the copper lines so they would be in the ceiling so I would not have to have a drop ceiling. I also put in a full bath and a bar with a sink.

More pics to come soon. I have started to tile the floor in the bar area which is a natural slate. I have also started to tile the shower and bathroom floor which is a granite and marble.

Yeah 90 sheets. My basement is about 1000 sq ft. My back never hurt so much in my life as the day I carried all of them down with one friend of mine (maybe exfriend now). LOL

Next is the bar area: I just completed the stone work (still need to morter though).
I had the wood custom made to be 1 inch wide tounge and groove so it will look like a basketball floor. I still need to sand it and stain it.

The bar is sweet did you build that your self?

BlazinEagle
02-16-2012, 05:25 PM
Yes, everything I have done myself. First time doing any kind of stone work, but would not hesitate doing it again. The hardest part of the whole bar was getting the exact angles on the bar rail. I almost threw it in the trash then I remembered what I paid for it!

Entertainment center that I built out of cabinents from Home Depot. I made the tops and the molding.

The little 29 gallon salt water tank I set up about 4 months ago.

Back of the bar area
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd250/blazin_eagle/025-3.jpg

I did put in a 7.2 surround sound system with polk towers and klipsch ceiling speakers. Pounds pretty good.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd250/blazin_eagle/024-2.jpg

All said and done I think I will be right around 18k from start to finish on this project. I added about 1000sq feet of living space to my house so I think it is well worth the cash. I was sad to sell the mustang, but there will be another one down the road. Once a stang fan always a stang fan!

18k? I haven't bought lumber or drywall in 10 years, but geez. Hopefully that's furniture and everything.

i do basements on the side, And i think you did a exceptional job, I think 18k isn't bad considering the upgraded bath room tile work and kitchen etc, Good job Man!!

Yes 18k does include a 2k furniture set. Thanks for the compliments. When I started it was just bare concrete walls. The biggest expenses were the carpet, and cabinents. The wood and drywall were less than $1300 together. There was not a bathroom there at all. I had to jackhammer the foundadtion to get the plumbing ran. WOW what a mess that thing made.

That looks awesome!! Looks like you do nice work. If your Mustangs were anything like your remodeling I am sure they were nice.

Do you have a back-up sump pump? With all of the freaky weather we have had lately it pays to have one, just in case.....unless you have a Generac!
