In your other thread you say you want those AFR 185's because they're aluminum. I've never seen a set of the heads you're selling now that AREN'T aluminum.

well I just dont want to have to send out my 306 to get rebuilt right now, and the 185s are aluminum. Also they will bolt to a 302, where as the RPMs will bolt to a 306

Uhhh, both 302 and the 306 are the exact same block... Which means either set of heads will bolt to a 302 or any cubic inch combination of the 302 block. 302, 306, 331, 347 are all the same block, just with different internals. Keep in mind the AFR 185's Tony was selling were on his 357 windsor so he had to have them drilled out or ordered them in 1/2" bolt holes. The 302's use 7/16" holes, but you can buy spacers for cheap to take up that space and still be able to use Tony's heads on your motor.

I know all about the RPMs I had them on a 357 also, I just know that they wount work with a stock piston bc of the larger valves, thats why I had asked if they would fit on a stock 302. I just have never had a set of AFRs and I have heard many good things about them, just wanted to try something different. If my heads dont sell I will get the 306 done eventually and bolt them on, no biggie. I already hav ethe step washers also.

I also just wanted to bolt some aluminum heads to my 302, knowing the rpms wouldnt work. thats why I asked if the 185s would. sorry for the confusion

Larry hows it going? Im not saying he doesnt know his stuff at all. Im just saying that i was wondering if the 185s would work on a stock 302 shoert block bc I know the RPMs wont, If i am wrong I stand corrected lol no pissing match here

Don't the 185's have the 2.02/1.60 valves as well? If so you would need the valve reliefs cut on the stock piston as well.

Ryan, the 185's and Eddy's share the same valve position so if 2.02 eddy's won't work, 185 AFR's won't work either. You would need 1.90 valves for a stock piston and any kind of a camshaft with decent lift. Hope that helps.

The 185's do yes. In fact, unless the RPM's have been worked and had new valves put in them, they come stock with 1.90/1.60 valves. If they were on a 357, they've at least been drilled out to 1/2" head bolt holes so it's very possible they've been worked to use the bigger intake valve:

So if the eddy's won't work, the AFR's definitely won't work...
