becouse it's a tri-coat,the top color(tint) has no pigment like kandys and they fade out quick then you see the pink color wich is the first color that goes down before the top color is applied,well it's a coppery/pink hue,this one is fresh and ready for the top back and cruise:cool2:

the 3rd stage is clearcoat,first is the pinky/copper hue/then the red tint is applied then your clearcoat tricoat,it's kinds like a kandy job,but with real kandys it's waaaaaaay harder to paint then factory tricoat

I had that someone was offering Laser Red as 2 stage paint now...just the base coat and the clear.

ppg has converted it to just a standard base and looks good.. but if you spray two pieces with each you can tell a difference.

Is the toreador red a 3 stage as well? I am thinking of doing a all over on the mark to liven it up. Maybe switch to a laser or kandy..
