what's all involved?
Check out turboford.org, there is a ton of info over there.
Just remembered, SATURNV is a member on here. He lives up in Kettering and has a Volvo head on his SVO. He will be able to help out I'm sure.

Wow, that car is so nice. I still need to make some time to get over and see it in person. I really want to get started on my turbo 4, but other things keep getting in the way.

I saw the T Top swap thread on Corral. You've got some hours in that car, and it shows!

Only thing I would change on that car is the silicon hoses to black. Sick car.

Who did the machine work, and is the intake and header custom, or off the shelve? I hear its about 2k to do the swap. Is that accurate?

I did all the machining short of having the head decked by Performance Clinic.
Yes, the intake and header are one off's built by me.
I have no where near $2K into the swap. It all depends on how much work and fabrication you can do yourself.
There are several ways to pull the swap off, and you may find www.turboford.org has lots of info on this swap there. Also, Pete has some of the oddball pieces needed in the For Sale section. Spacers, valves, header kits, pulley adapters, etc.

Nice.
i sit here with a freshly bored out block with new CP pistons with a stock cracked head, figuring out what my best route is.
Don't really want to spend the $1700 on a built Boport. Any suggestions on a place to fix my head?

I would love to pull the trigger on the 16v conversion, but my fabrication skill are not up to par. If I had a line on a intake and header I would have it done by spring. I'm gonna order rods and pistons next month, I'll have to find conversion parts by then. Do you suggest getting the Volvo's intake and exhaust manifold to help with the fabrication when I buy the head?
I have seen some guys use the intake runners off the Volvo and mandrel tubing to fab intake.
What did you use to make your intake? Do you have build pics?

You can use the intake as a base, I don't know anyone using the exhaust.
Mine is all aluminum and was done from scratch.

Nope.
I haven't even driven it this year. Been busy working on a F100 project, building up a 04 Cobra IRS for a buddy, and working on my boy's Cherokee...
