Anyone believe that a 302 bored out to a 306 with eagle bottom end, gt40 heads with 1.92 valves(dont remember exhaust), gt40(explorer) intake and 65mm throttle body at 9:1 compression could possibly be puting down 430 horsepower at the wheels??? I have a guy swearing his car put that down and he trying to trade me.

Tell him to bring it down to Cincy Speed and I will strap it to the Dyno. If it makes 430 on motor, I will give him $100. If it doesnt, he pays me $50.:)

i am hoping to make 400 out of my 306 and have way better parts and more compression and have him take craig up on his deal

Yep, I just went along with him as he was talking and he just kept on piling the crap on. I had to stop him when he said 9 to 1 compression, I couldnt take it anymore.

Yeah, hes talking stroker numbers with good supporting parts. Offer to put it on a dyno, and if it doesn't make within 10% of that number he throws in $2k in cash on the deal.

There probably is a sucker out there for him, just not me. He actually got mad at me for questioning him not to mention changed his story to being a gt40 crate motor. He doesnt think fast enough on his feet though because apparently they make one with cast iron heads though(not). I told him even if it was the 380HP 9.5 compression 2.02 valve version(which its not), it would still take more than an explorer intake and TB to put anything close to 430 at the wheels.
