What Ford Motor setups can put 450ish to the tires and still get at least 20mpg? I am looking for new ideas I had not thought of for my 68 I am doing the power tour again next year (going to Texas) BUT the currant engine will cost about 500 more in fuel and need to stop for fuel every 150ish miles.

Unless you find a mexican block 302 and go small cam with a little boost but I would have no idea what kind of MPG that would net you. It is still a stick car isnt it?

You could go 3v. It would be alot cheaper but very tough to get 450 rwhp and streetability with 20 mpg N/A. 400 rwhp is obtainable. 450 rwhp is easy with FI but will put you over 5k for the swap. I would be for a Coyote swap as well. Keep us updated....

I've got a 347NA as my current set up and there's well over 5K in it, I've been considering a future swap of some sort to get me over 500 due to the fact that i'm running a stock based block. I've considered about every combo possible 2v turbo, termi, 4v turbo you name it....... and really just for about any swap and be at 400 you're going to be looking at about 5k no matter what. My reason for the Coyote after talking to a few people who know of a Coyote pushing 800hp on a stock bottom end and it's holding together.
