ebay turbos?

has anyone ever ran the kits from ebay? you can order a complete kit for around 1000$ i have a super fresh stock bore 302 and some gt40p heads would this hold up to a few pounds for a tire fryin street toy? i have zero experience with forced induction but i think it would be a fun experiment. any input or advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Look and see if its a On3 kit, if not i would just look into getting a On3 one..
I think they might be a tad more depending on what you want.. They are from Columbus i believe, not really local but if you had issues you would have a better chance of getting things solved then from the net...
Just google On3 and they stock the kits...
Fyi i dont have a On3 kit but have always heard good stuff...

you get what you pay for. I would look into a used kit if you want to go cheaper. The pipes and what not aren't bad but as for the turbo I wouldn't waste the money. Masterpower makes a good turbo for cheap if you want to go the new route.

I have an on3 kit on my fox and there cust svc is good but they don't stand behind shit if it breaks, goes bad or if it's even bad out of the box. Needless to say Ill b going elsewhere next time.

do they make anything for carbed? i plan on this being a carbed motor but im not sure what all needs to be done in order to turbo a carbed motor. like i said i know nothing about forced induction.

I have seen people buy those turbo's to use for getting the setup running and then change it later. The problem is you need to cheap turbo to be dimensionally identical to the good one for this to work.

I would not use one except for mocking the system up like the guy above said, those turbo's in the DSM community have been known to fail. If the wheel explodes it can take out your motor. Holset has a video on their site of one of the cheap turbos coming apart and it might be on youtube. Master power as also said above makes a decent turbo, I have a buddy running a t70 in an s10 with a 350.

what all is involed in turboing a carbed car is it more difficult than efi?

Not much different as far as I know, just have to get a blower ready carb maybe, and something to control timing like an MSD with the boost feature. Also do not buy the ebay Walbro 255 pumps they are not real walbros.

The turbos that ebay has are JUNK . I heard if you send them off and get them Balenced they hold up but who wants to take that chance

im going to go with that on3 smytty introduced me to. they seem to have pretty good set ups and prices are right.

i had a t3 from ebay on my acura. i know right. ricer. but it held up to more boost than the stock block could handle. its still in good operating condition. but as stated before, you get what you pay for. i bought with every intention of it being junk and was surprised. maybe i got lucky.

I would buy one already on a car. Blackout bought an on3 and had to have it completely reworked to fit.
