Our (15) year old son/dog/best friend suffered a stroke yesterday morning... We had no choice but to put him to sleep..... RIP Petey.

That's rough, I've been there, I had Derrick 17 years before I had to send him on to the next life :(

Sorry for your loss!! Each day will get better for you though. We just had to put our first dog down back in May. She was 16 years old. She looked great but couldn't get around or eat on her own.Thats the hardest thing my wife and I have ever had to do. I will never forget that day. Gets me choked up just typing this. The first couple weeks were very hard but got easier after that. Just stay strong and dont let anyone give you any shit for grieving over a pet. They are a part of the family and should be treated as such.

Sorry for your loss. I don't know what I would do without my dog, and she's only a year old.

RIP Petey, If he was anything like the last dog I had to bury you'll never forget him. Be certain if you do not see him when you pass on that you have gone the wrong direction. At some point you have to wonder if you really should get another for fear of feeling like you are replacing them. I know for certain that The years of unconditional love from a dog is worth the loss.
