Depends on the tuner and supporting mods. What size whipple are you putting on makes a difference as well. Are you looking to run pump gas, race gas, e85? RPM is what kills the GT500 rods more quickly than power. Keep the rev limiter stock and there have been guys running 650+ for multiple years.

No experience with 5.4 however 4.6L 3v is happy with 9-10 psi but no more from a 2.3L twin screw setup. Cams and LT's as well added to this equation are a very standard type of upgrade as well. There is much warning about going above 10psi and I have seen the results just recently where a 12psi setup turned a 4.6L 3V motor out of a saleen wrong side out. It looked like someone did a cutaway of the short block, literally.

And yes the tune means the difference between success and failure.

700rwhp is safe, 750 gets sketchy. The BLOCK is good for anything, but the rods are the weak point :(

Your gonna max everything stock out before you make it to the end. Read my post GET IT TUNED. Safe and by someone that knows what there doing on a dyno not a mail ordered tune.

Thanks for the help,Dayton performance is going to do the work as soon as I get everything here.Kooks long tube headers, with catted X-pipe,Afco heat exchanger with dual fans, and I'm thinking whipple 2.9 because it clears the stock hood, with 72lb fuel injectors, boost a pump and whipple 123mm mass air flow tube and larger monoblade throttle body.and custom tune.
