My work van overheated today. It is a 2000 E-250 with the 5.4. Weird thing is that it got hotter as I was driving down the express way..WTF?? The thermostat has been replaced, the water pump was just replaced, new coolant. Could the clutch fan cause this?

yes it can. especially if its the stock unit. The one in my van finally went out at 150,000 or so

I just replaced one on the wife's jeep for this problem.

Well, replaced the clutch part of the fan, I know it is pulling air through the radiator. Took it for a spin and the same thing is happening. Overheated while at speed on the highway. Going to flush the radiator and remove the thermostat and see if that helps. Will update tonight.
