Hey guys I bought my car last august when I bought it the Door locks used a different key then the ignition. Now the reason for this who knows, anyway I bought some door lock and ignition cylinders so they all would match, but when I went to look at doing the door locks they looked a bit difficult. So I didn't know if there was an easy way to switch them out fast or if it is just a pain in the butt install. I would like to save the money and do it myself but if it's a big pain I would rather pay to have it done. Besides "don't buy a car that don't have the key to the door locks" what is your guys advice. Is it a pain in the ass or can i do it simply? Thanks guys

I sucks cause I only have one key and it is for the ignition and it doesn't work for the doors or trunk so idk I just bought some new lock cylinders on ebay two doors and one ignition it came with one key but figured i could get more made, just gotta get them installed lol. I can't hardly get my hand in the door to do anything that's why i am debating taking it to a shop and letting them do it.

call a lock smith service and see if they can cut you a door key for it. Maybe it would be less than all the locks cost and less work, worth a shot to see if they can.

the thing is I bought a nice set of used lock cylinders off ebay. Others wise I would probably try that. I think I am just going to take it to a local shop tomorrow and have them do it. I have the door panels off because I was cleaning the car real good and had to replace the bushings in the driver side window motor and figured I would go ahead and address this issue before I put it all back together. With as hot as it is and how big of a pain it looks I'd rather not do it.

Dealing with this on my truck, trying to find a set of door locks and a igntion cylinder with the same code on them. Why would they even put a code on them if you cannot match them up. None of the parts stroes want to even check and see what codes they have. I am waiting on a set from rockauto. Soon as they get here I am going to every parts store in the area that has any of the parts in stock to pull the codes, make a list of codes and hopefully get a matching set.

Hey jesse sorry just now saw the post and already dropped the car off at the shop. Once that is done i will get to put my interior in the car which will be nice since i cleaned the whole interior and shampooed it. Excited about that. I don't want to sound ignorant but my car didn't have the keyless entry remotes when i bought it. Did they come with keyless entry in 94? Jesse does your car have that? If so is it does how hard is it to program one for the car. Thanks for the all the help guys. Dirtydog, I wish you luck man.

Yes, I think it was an option. My 94 has keyless entry. I never ever use the keys. Now whether or not your car has the equipment, I am not sure. Someone might be able to tell you where it would be located in the car. I assume that if you did have it, then you could have Ford program you a remote

Well i did some research and if i do have it, it should be located on my drivers side in the trunk around the quarter panel. I might check it out if I do i might get me some remotes I kinda like having them got use to them with the truck and amy's car lol.
