ok so im toying with idea of stroking a 302 to 347 and turboing it. Not sure what body style i wanna go with yet. Just thought i would see what everyones sugestions are building the motor from the ground up. So all ideas and info will be put to use.

I think Boss block from frpp, saves you almost enough to buy crank and rods over the Dart!

for not much more than it's going to cost to build a 347 you could get a new Coyote... just sayn.. I just built a 347 within the past 6 months

everyone told me the boss blocks cylinder walls are too short for the stroke of a 347..... again just what i was told

Not true unless something has changed in the last year in the production, me and a buddy just built a 4.125 bore 347(363cu in) out of a boss block that Craig@Cincy got us a good deal on! that block is supposed to hold a 3.5 stroke crank!

I think I'll stick with a stock block and not stroke it...
That's a bit expensive.

it's not to bad it can be done for cheap but i don't know that i'd boost a cheap version........ if you don't plan on boosting it much you can go with a stock block just keep it under 500hp

My 347 stroker has been a great little HP maker, it is a stock block and low budget engine. I receommend a Probe fully forged assy, about 9-1 dish piston and you can make good power for the street and then go to a turbo or super charger or even NOS down the road. Mike at Dayton Performance can work with you on a good cam for it to match up to some TFS Track Heat T/W heads. It's all about the combination.

I don't know how much horsepower I want in it. Its going to be both show and track, carbureted. Inside is going to have a 8 point rollcage and interior parts are going to be 'glassed. Although this is all still in the plans, I don't even have a chassis. I talked to a local guy who said if I wanted to spend that much for a block I should just buy a 351 and bore and stroke it. Of course this guy drives a 99 Saleen production number 373 of 373. He's in the Cobra club of america, tried to get him to come to the 'bangerz but I don't know if he will

if you're going to be doing some track duty a 351 clevor is prolly going to be your best bet, but that's just my .02 i'm sure everyone has their own opinion but really it's more about what you want the car to run and how you set it up, i've seen big hp guys go slow and low hp guys go fast all about the set up. Have you ever driven a radical fox body? I hadnt until my current car and I had this big plan i wanted to have like 500 hp and with the right combo 400 or just under is pleanty and fun as shit and doesnt break something everytime you take it out.....

i would have loved to take me old 04 lightning motor and slap it in a coupe that would deff have been a fun ride.
