I'm building a 5 by 8 open utility trailer. What do I need to do to make it legal as far as license.

stop tails and turns then take it have it weighed, take the weigh slip to the bmv and tell them you want a plate.

In Indiana you have to have a signed Police inspection for the BMV. We built a motorcycle/ utility type trailer and had to stamp a vin in 2 places and have it inspected.

Yea in Ohio all u have to do is take a certified scale weight slip to bmv and tell them its homemade. U can give it any serial # u want. Weighing it willcost u 20 and tags r like 38. Good luck
