I have a 92 lx, need to put a new condenser in for the a/c. anyone ever cut a hole in the dash,, anyone interested in the job,, I can get it recharged, has a conversion kit just need the thing replaced,, should i go ahead and do the heater coil also ??

I think you mean evaporator. The condenser is in front of the radiator.

It's not as hard as some would lead you to believe, but it is tedious and time consuming. I wouldn't cut a hole in the dash. And yes, I would go ahead and replace the heater core. Don't forget to replace the receiver dryer, as well.

yes i was in a hurry and meant to say evap... heard if ya just replace it you can cut the firewall from the engine side.. hate to take the dash out but might have to.

I have taken the box out of my '89, but the interior was mostly out already. I had an '84 that I replaced the heater core in and had to remove the dash (basically just unbolt it). It wasn't too bad, after I figured out that removing the passenger seat greatly improved the room needed, LOL.

I've not heard of cutting the firewall, but I wouldn't suggest doing it. I don't see it giving you any room to work.
