Some upfront info.. I recently installed a Series IV blower/Supercar pump, and had it tuned at Precision. I got it back Friday and it was running very well. It made 355/388. I was hoping for high HP numbers, but high intake air temps kept me around 350. It has maybe 60 miles on it since I got it back. The Saleen intercooler is horribly inefficient so it gets hot fast. It has old coolant in it which I was planning on flushing/filling this week. I ran into an issue coming home from Huber Heights fireworks the other night. Let me pick the brains of you more knowledgeable guys. I waited until most were gone to even start the car. I was in stop and go traffic for about a mile/10 min. tops. Traffic moves..I move forward and the car starts to chug like an old tractor! I immediately pull into a lot and shut it off. I pop the hood and everything is HOT. The intake tube was even hot to the touch. I let is sit for 45 minutes. I even had a tow truck guy give me a bag of ice to cool down the blower. I limp it home-2 miles. Next morning it is hard to start..turns over finally starts surging and crap/id;e surge. I pulled the neg. battery, same thing. If you ease into the throttle it picks up RPM..the second you stab it :waaaammp falls on it's face.?? I spoke to Jeff and he wants me to check fuel rail pressure. I don't have a tool to check it so I have to find some help. I did install the supercar pump..maybe kink in hose/hole in hose/who knows. Any thoughts...anyone in Huber with a gauge to test the pressure?

I would start by not putting ice on the blower. It will cause the case to contract and reduce the clearances between the rotors and the case which can lead to damage.

dropped it off at Precision, Jeff is gonna troubleshoot it.

I have heard good things about him. I called him and his tuning was alot more expensive, and he is alot further away. My issue may be with the fuel pump, that I installed. Either way, Jeff is taking care of me.

did you use the submersible fuel line? Sounds like it blew the line. It did the same thing to me when I didn't connect the line correctly.

sometimes u gotta pay for good quality work!!, but hope things work out with ur car!

I just got off the phone with him. The fuel line disintegrated! He put in a new piece of 30 R 10, and it purrs! I'm having them flush the main coolant since it's there. I can pick it up tonight. Blackout, I used a piece just a tad longer than your old one. He said it just fell apart when he pulled off the hat. So low pressure made it dump fuel, which made it chug and pour black smoke. Jad0087, like I said I have heard good things about him and his work. I'm on a budget, Jeff is doing good work and has helped me work out the bugs, many for free. This was my fault for using wrong hose. Glad it's fixed.

Now go get it re-tuned. Probably already had a hole when they tuned it.

I'm with you. I think I would at least put it on the dyno to check the AFR.

He just called, and said it is ok. He drove it and said it is pulling good.

Did you figure out why it was so hot?

No, not really, maybe due to the bumper to bumper stop and go traffic?? The fuel pressure at the rail was super low due to the line rupturing. The computer dumped tons of fuel to compensate for low fuel rail pressure. Would this add timing and make it run hotter? I took it to Beavercreek cruise in, then cruised a bit, with a few pulls. When I parked it the blower was hot..naturally but the rest of the components were warm, but not hot. That night the intercooler tank was hot, tonight barely warm. As long as I keep it over a 1/4 tank, it's good. The supercar pump doesn't like less fuel in the tank.

Its possible but if it were to go in to limp mode it would pull timing.
