I know there's some guys here with cars well over 400hp at the wheels...how well do you guys get traction on the street and what suspension/tires are you using?

I ask because, i took my car out for a spin this morning and i'm just tickled to death with how it will destroy the tires half way through 3rd with no problem at all. Then it dawned on me, maybe that's less about how much power it's making and more about my suspension/tire setup being total crap. My tires are generic so i'm sure that doesn't help and the suspension is stock except for springs. Personally, i enjoy it...and i'm getting further away from building a race car so i'm not really looking for advice on how to make it hook, i'm just curious how you guys with twice the power i make are doing it. I guess at some point it's a lost cause and traction just won't happen.

I have some old Mich Pilots in 285/40's and I can light them up at will. My suspension is set up on the stiffer side so they may affect it some. At some point I am going to put dr's on it to see how much better it will hook

I just took off some worn DR's, and even worn they hooked a lot better than standard radials.

BTW i was by your house last Friday night and came _ this close to doing a big nasty burnout in front of your house, but the redneck in me chickened out LOL.

I couldnt imagine having 4.10s like are recommended for my cam. Its hard enough to take off aggressively with the 3.73s.

Huh? You told me to keep it? I don't even use it i bought a new one. If you remember i was using it in your driveway, you told me to keep it or else how would it have left in my car? I've been called a lot of things but a thief is not one of them, surely not for a damned shami.

Chamois are serious business. I have had the same 2 for 20 years. Don't fuck with em.

Well i mean seriously, i'm no fucking thief and sure as hell not for a shami. His exact words were that it was old and he had others for me to keep it or i wouldn't have even bothered. I haven't used it since that day, it's been sitting in my back seat. If he wanted it back he could have PM'ed me or called or text me so i don't know what this is about, i hope it's a silly joke and just worded it wrong.

I just "convienantly" drove 66 miles round trip to drop your shami off in your mail box. I didn't pull in the driveway because it's late and i didn't want to disturb anyone. Next time you need something, feel free to call/text/PM me, all three work just fine and i check them daily.

Happy Shami'ing.

Not to get off the subject of chamois...

But UPR Elite control arms (upper and lower)
Nitto 555 drag radials
Lakewood drag shocks rear
Lakewood drag struts front
eibach sport springs

For only going to the track once every 2 years I love the way it does on the street. 99.999999999999% of my driving in on the street and I could not be happier. And wow what a difference this makes. It makes driving down twisty roads a ton more fun. I go "the long way" to places just to rip on it going down a back road. I only have 300hp but the right suspension can make your car feel totally different, give you more confidence, and the chicks dig it :-)
