Site Mobile Access

We're about to upgrade the forum to the latest VB version. While we were looking into that we saw that VB now offers a mobile app for Android and Iphone. There is also an app for free that we can run instead called Tapatalk. I wanted to reach out to our users and see if anyone had experience with either App and if you have used both, which you preferred.

i haven't used any of the apps, i know s197 or mod fords uses them, but never tried. i really like using the reg site. the way phones are as fast as they are these days.

the current mobile system we have is horrid, lol.

maybe i'll try it on one of the other forums and see what she looks like

just looking real fast at the tapatalk, $3 to start with, and it looks like another condensed version of a site.

i'm still a full site guy.

hopefully we can use the full site, i know right now on mobile i have no choice and the way it loads mobile is horrible.

same as facebook, i like using the site the way i use it everyday

Me too, but its harder to see everything on a small screen, which is why I enjoy the mobile format, mostly because I don't have to scroll left to right very much, and it loads faster. Im using a droid2

Haven't used either app, but I am constantly using my DroidX to view sbz in it's current form with little to no issues... I have thought about tapatalk, but never investigated it much. Free is always better than paying IMO ;)

The way I understand it, Tapatalk costs the user the 3 bucks or whatever, but costs the site nothing. And you still have the option of viewing the full site without tapatalk just by accessing from your mobile browser.

I'm not as familiar with the VBB option, but if it works like the current system, and mobile users are forced to use the mobile format, I vote no on that one.

I'm trying to read up about it right now. I don't think that the VB option costs the user anything, just the site admin so that might be a small advantage to the VB option.

i use tapatalk ALOT ... it is a awesome app .. you can do everything on it you can do here on the pc ...

i say do both the VB and tapatalk ... i know tapatalk is free, i think you install a folder where the site is hosted and done ... its really nice to have all the forums you browse right there in one app

I use tapatalk for the Holy Rollerz Christian Car Club website and the Armed Forces Car Club website and it works great. My recommendation would be to use the tapatalk app.

A few boards that I'm on use Tapatalk and it's really nice. It's worth the $3 or so for the app.

That's the one big plus. A lot easier that using Photobucket from the phone.

To me, it doesn't flow well. Function makes or breaks things with me and to me, it fails to function any better than the mobile browser.
