The exhaust and intake won't. Its just like going from a 302 to a 351...its a taller deck height and a wider engine.

i don't agree:) the 5.4 looks a hell of a lot better in there and close to 70 more torque

If you plan on towing it will be great! Using the car to pull the truck is odd however. 5.4's do respond well to boost if that is in the plans I say go for it. If you plan to keep it NA might as well leave it alone.

Everybody on here is so negative towards 5.4s, if you get on corral and ask this same question you would have hundreds of people telling you to go for it. I don't regret putting mine in for a second. but im also the type that likes to be different than others.

The 5.4 has an overly long stroke and a poor bore/stroke ratio which effectively limits RPM. Combine that the lack of availability of parts and you have pretty good reasons to keep the 4.6.

There are some smart guys on there, but they usually don't post much. Most of the people on there saw an ad for it in a magazine that they were buying overpriced and over rated parts from. The company they bought them from spent more on the magazine ad than inventory. This is a group mostly made of guys without the deep pockets and "throw more cash at it" approach that have to learn and pick mods wisely to get results. There are a few around who throw 40,000 at a car to make it fast then get bored and sell it soon after, but most keep their cars for long terms constantly modding them when they can afford to. Most importantly enjoying their ride as best they can. (when it isn't raining of course so not much lately)

I have paid for all the modifications on my car and i am a 20 year old college student? i dont have deep pockets what so ever and can't just throw money at it. I put the 5.4 in because i like to be different from everyone else.

I think we all can respect that, just don't expect it to be worth the time effort or money until you put a blower on it. It's like putting a 4 ft wing on a 3.0 liter vulcan OHV taurus.

I know of two 5.4 2v swaps, one makes 370/380 and the other is around 350/360. Both are very mild combos that make power very low in the powerband and make for great drivers. I have some information on the swap that I can email you. email me at nasvt at yahoo
Here's a link to a couple 5.4 swap threads:
