Well you can buy a car and drag race it. You can't buy a car and take it out on an oval. Since they don't race real cars in NASCAR anymore, that saying holds more truth in drag racing now.

It also doesn't hurt that the new 5.0 is the fastest GT ever built by Ford, and Ford themselves are building and selling the BAMF Cobra Jet.
