Yeah I've been working it for 2 years now, stripped it completely down to bare metal, painted the bottom of the chassis black, the engine bay is Electric Green (high metallic), by Dupont. Obviously the rest of the car will be painted the same color.

I have Team Z Racing uppers, Lowers, anti-roll bar with strange shocks and qa1 coil springs out back, all of that attaches to the 8.8 with welded axle tubes, Strange 33 spline spool, 4:56 gears, axels and c-clip elims.

Out front is all Chrome Moly UPR Stuff with strange struts, flaming river rack and shaft.

The fuel system is all Jegs, from the fuel cell through the braided #8 line to the regulator in the engine bay.

I hand bent all the brake line from the master cylinder to the Hurst line lock and back to the rear end, it's all powder coated line going into braided #3 line at the calipers.

The cage was built and installed by me and a friend of mine, it's 10 point with sub- frame connectors, reinforced torque boxes.

On the interior i have all the pieces to go back in the car except for the seats, i'm using Kirkey aluminum seats, Turbo Action Cheetah shifter, Holcomb Motorsports steering column, grant steering wheel, auto meter gauges and tach.

The motor is a 347 that i put together from Ford Strokers, the trans is a Frank Frank Lupo trans-brake c-4 with a 4500 stall converter.

I did all the work myself with the direction of two good friends, one is a fabricator that helped me with the design and build of the cage and the other is a Body man by trade. Jay seriously educated me on body and paint, WOW what an experience this has been... Don't think i want to be a body man when i grow up. It's hard work that takes a long time to do right, i can't tell you how many hours i spent sanding every part on the car that gets painted. It will be all worth it when it rolls out of the paint booth later this month.. Gotta go, still more work to be done..

Now i just need a couple able men to help me hang the doors, hatch, fenders and front bumper, line everything up and start blocking.... I removed the door latch assembly's, washed them and reinstalled with new hardware. Also put new door pins with bushings on the freshly painted hinges. Tomorrow night i will hopefully have the manpower to hang the doors and hatch, then the fenders and bumper. I should have it blocked before the end of next week. I think i can have the car turn key before the end of June...

Definitely looks good man. You leaving the hood and spoiler black or are those going to green too? I bet some smoked headlights and tails would look really good with that Green. I know the darker headlights looked great on my 99.

MrMustang99GT
06-08-2011, 08:38 PM
Yes i'm leaving the hood, spoiler, mirrors, door and window trim all hotrod black. This is a single stage paint by Dupont that won't chalk or get messed up with polishing the car.. And yes i'm using the 1 piece smoked black headlights and the stock tail lights with a light black smoke.. We're going to sand it with 1500 tomorrow then polish it out and then i can put the rest of the trim, body side moldings on the car. Then i'll move to the interior and put all the plastic back in the car.. Should have the motor and trans in the car before months end. The motor and trans have been dynoed, all the plumbing to the motor and trans is there.... Should be plug and play.. Can't wait.

The car is up and running, i still have some interior stuff i'd like to do over the winter, but at least it's turn key. I also had a Grandson in July, he's been my #1 priority, so the old car has been sitting a whole lot..

I'll be working on my truck and a trailer too pull the car in the next couple of months.. Wish i could have taken it out, but i just run out of time.. Oh well, i'll be ready come March.
