What kind of gas mileage would you expect for a 92 gt with a very mild 347,aod with 3000 stall and 410 gears?

Yes...with a lock up (direct drive) converter and efi...15 to 18 on the highway should be doable.

Not really hard pressed about gas mileage ive got the xr4ti for that. Ive just never owned a stroker with efi and an aod. I just wanted an idea of what to expect. It is just a toy not a dd

I have a similar set up with a T-56 though and just like Kenny said hard to keep your foot out of it..... but last year on a trip using cruise and in 6th gear obviously it was getting like 12, I had a 1991 Lx before this that had basically no mods and 3:73's it was my daily driver for about 5 years I never got better than about 15

I've heard guys claim mileage in the low 20s but i just don't see it no matter how they're driven. Ford used 2.73s to get mileage out of them and that was about the only way.

Also on that T56, it's funny if you look at the gear ratios, 6th gear isn't really much different than 5th in a lot of transmissions. It's more like they just squeezed an extra gear in between 4th and 5th to make a 6th gear.

My 6000 lb F150 Crew cab 4x4 w/ 3.73s got 18.36mpg on the highway, that was running about 70.

The key is keeping your foot out of it and running cruise on the highway as much as possible.

My 600 hp 347 averaged 20 mpg with a viper spec T56(.53 6th gear) and I was keeping my foot out of it. got 16 with E85 same conditions, back road state route, going around 55 to 60, keeping my foot out of it.

And yet my Vic will only muster around 19 mostly highway with the cruise on at 65. I just wonder if you guys getting these awesome mpg numbers have something going on with your tire height and gear ratios that are giving you inflated numbers.
