Im wondering which gear will be best for my car
I have a 96 Mustang GT with a stock 4.6, has a bbk cold air kit,h-pipe with flowmasters.its an auto
its my daily driver and its driven on freeway alot, so cant get to wild.
one day im gonna get a programmer,
so which gear do you suggest?

Mod motor automatic cars like a good gear.... id say 4.10-4.30. You'll have to get someone to reprogram the car for the gear though, I do believe.

ok thanks. i like 410 or 430 just not sure which one. i wanna buy a gear and programmer at the same time, i hope

i agree since its a automatic id go with at least a 410

I would have to say just the opposite. The extra gear with the 5 speed manual makes it a little more street friendly running the 4.30's. The auto, not so much.

4.10's or 4.30's for sure. Don't fear the gear.

i was gonna say 4.10 be first then a 3.90 then a 3.73 wouldnt go more then a 4.10 in a auto car and you might want a stall too and a shift kit

Overdrive in a 4R70W is .70 and with a T45 its .67 so as far as highway driving goes its pretty much a wash. The only issue that may exists with 4.30 is the computer. I seem to recall the computer may not be able to keep up or something like that.

sounds like a 410 is the way to go.. im gonna order one the next few days. does any one have a 410 for sale ?
