302 starters/Fly wheels

Is there more than one tooth count for flywheels/starter that will bolt up to the 302?? I got a car that had no starter on it and the two starters i tryed in the car wont engage the flywheel...

Pretty much all of your foxbodys used a 157 tooth flywheel if its a stick I do believe

not to state the obvious but are you sure the starters are good? I just put a motor back together that had a brand new starter this past october and some how it went bad over the winter just sitting........

I've tried 3 starters now and i wouldn't think all 3 are bad.

All your ground straps bolted to the block and body proper?

I wouldnt either, but also on mine my battery was low too so when i'd hit the key the starter would just spin..... and not engage even after I put the new starter on... charged up the battery and it fired right up
