K so to tell you what I have it's a 347 with vic jr heads, je pistons and a custom ground flowtech blower cam. I'm not currently running boost. With that being said the only thing that changed from the old set up to the current set up is the cam and the pistons. On the old set up it revved up really quick I mean like so quick you'd hit the rev limiter so fast it wasnt even funny. I liked that about the old set up. Got it fired up for the first time tonight and it seems really sluggish, doesnt want to rev over about 4 grand and it's SLOW! Any idea's what would cause this would be greatly appreciated as I don't have a clue.

I wouldnt think changing the compression from 11.5:1 and now I'm not sure of the exact compression but it's under 10...... I know it needs a tune but it's so far off from being the same car that it's not even funny.....

double check the timing

Did that three times i guess it could be off but it doesn't back fire or krackle and pop

So anyone ever change from a street to a blower cam? Just curious if that would change how the car rev's or how drastically it would chagne it?

no one has ran into this before?

You know you all are fags for real. The one time I need some major advice and not a word other than double check the timing.......

Well give us your compression ratio and cam specs...

I'm going to order some new intake gaskets as I think there's a leak there but here's the specs if I had to guess right at or right below 10.5:1

Valve adjustment intake and exhaust .000

lobe lift intake .373"
exhaust .361"

Gross valve lift 1.60 ratio
intake .598"
exhaust .578"

duration @ .050" tappet lift
intake 230*
exhaust 240*

lobe separation 113*

recommended intake centerline 110*

specs at 110° intake centerline

valve timing at .050" tappet lift
intake open 5* btdc
intake closed 45* abdc

exhaust open 56* bbdc
exhaust closed 4* atdc

Did you degree the cam?

yup the machine shop did it for me when they assembled the short block ....... at this point, i'm ordering new intake gaskets as I think there might be a vacumm leak, and i'm going to check the pushrod length...... other than that i'm at a loss......

Were they the existing pushrods?

Well I bet your new blower motor (when running and tuned right) will definatly feel like a slug compared to your old n/a combo. I bet it will be down at least 50+ hp with it being almost 2 compression points lower and running a blower cam. Get the motor broke in and get some boost on it.

James, yup they were the same pushrods that were in the old motor......... and Jeff I kinda figured it would be down some and I'm o.k. with that so if my old motor made 389 na and roughly around 505 (which being on a stock block I was worried about) so really with the Novi 1000 I should be right under 5 which suits me just fine...... I need one of those boss blocks like you've got to really turn the wick up. Althought I know someone parting a sweet turbo kit......... hmmmm 347 Turbo could be pretty fun...

Don't get a Boss block to use with a standard 347 kit (3.4" crank)..the cylinder walls are cast shorter than a stock block for some reason. This lets the pistons come out of the bore and rock to much at BDC.

oh wow I did not know that........ guess a Dart will be in store for next year.....
