turbo car need help

Okay well here's what I have 96gt with t70 turbo kit,38lb inj,sct mass air flow,255 pump,sct tuner with custom tunes and some other little things well here's the situation car starts and idles fine will go into boost around 7-8 pounds and then will start breakin up and cuttin out around 2500 rpms car blows off and sounds pretty cool I guess but I went and got an aftermarket fuel regulator and some cooler spark plugs will this help my situation out?any input would be very well appreciated thanks Mike.

Stop, Go back to basics and Check EVERYTHING. Check fuel pressure, Plugs, Plug gap, Run a compression test, Check charging voltage etc. Then once that is done you have a place to start.
Also who tuned it?

Its a Non-PI headed car on 7-8 pounds. The injectors in the car made 450 to the tires in a foxbody. I doubt its maxing the injectors @ 2500rpms. Something else is going on. You need to check everything. What custom tune is loaded?

some NGK TR6 should be 1 step colder plugs and work great on my turbo 2v. fuel pressure should stay around the 40psi mark with the vac off. No need to bump the pressure up like you do on the 5.0l I would get a fuel gauge and see where pressure sits. Then find out what the A/F ratio is sitting at. Your MAF transfer function may be still be off since this is fine tuned when doing an initial tune. Datalogging will also help out with trouble shooting and ruleing out possibilities

thats what mine did after i got it together at 3,500 it would just break up took it to get tuned at md and ken said it needed an msd 6a1 put one on and fixed the problem,i would start with regapping your plugs it may be just blowing the spark out under boost close them up and see if it still does it,or bring it down and i'll take a look at it for ya

yeah i told him last night it is def blowing out the spark. we had the wrong plugs in it. and coils from 1996..

we did have a charging issue and fixed it but have not drove it again.

x2 on the spark being blown out...tighten the gap down to .035 and try it again you may have to go down to as much as .030 until you get some type of msd set up.

Yeah, set the fuel pressure at 40 with the vacuum off, then leave it alone. Just get it on the dyno and get it tuned before you end up with a pile of castiraluminsteel

I hear ya, but like others have said, use this one to get it right, and then put your good engine in. If it blows and chunks get out the exhaust valve, they'll head right into your turbo impeller.

I have the car now, an I am currently fixing it right. Plugs were gapped at .45 and are now gapped at .30 the fuel pump looked like an Ebay pump that are known to fail, so I swapped it with a walbro 255, also the clamp on the line coming out of the pump was not even tight and the line was coming off, and no sock filter on the pump, no filler neck to tank grommet, it was ripped and laying in the bottom of the tank, ABS pump was laying on the pass. header, power steering line melting on driver side header.

This car was a nightmare but I am slowly fixing it. I am fabbing up the exhaust and have heat wrapped all the hotside piping. The car will soon be getting tuned.

I also forgot the car had no oil filter on it, they had the two lines hooked together will a male-male AN fitting. I have since put on a Moroso oil filter relocation kit.

This dude doesnt even know wat happin or any thing he wasnt there. U guys trailered car to his place. He never drove it. Befor dude came out john talked to him on phone and told him everything I was there. Dude didnt care. He just wanted a car that would blow off. Like mikie said when he took him down the drive way and shifted to second and dude heard it blow off and said he'd trade didnt care about anything else.

Johns worked on a ton of my stuff and i'll continue to let him. He knows his stuff Ive learned so much from him. Like he said he the top mechanic at his company he always turns more money each week then all the other mechanics.
