Wow, I don't really don't know where to start...........
First off, we called the race day, "The Preston Cup" because that is what my sons name is and New Precptions, the charity that we donate all this too, helped my son from the time he was 15 month until we was 3 yrs old, he's 6 now, and they did so much for our family and for him, so that is the story as to why you heard it called that all day today.
Special thanks to Moontang/Scott for getting together the cruise in to join up with me and my Private Race Day to make this the LARGEST race/fundraiser event that I have ever put on at E2O.
From my paper work and the list of racer that I have, I ended up with around 66 cars that raced and I would have to say well over 300 to 400 people in attendance!!!!!!!!!! Or at least it seemed that way. I know we had 300 door price cards and we used the all.
What my wife and I usually do is take what is left over after paying all the expence of the track and that is the amount that we donate, but this year, we are paying for the track our selves, and all the money raised from the bake sale, split the pot and racers is all going to New Precetpions!!! Our donation is the track rental.
So, in the end, the total of the day, that will be dropped off to New Prections on Monday, which includes split the pot, the bake sale, and the sale of the racing spots will be over $3600
THANK YOU to everyone that gave to any of the above and I hope everyone had a good time.
We had a great turn out of cars, and a large selection of cars, all the way from car in the 15s to low 9s, you gotta love that, and having the track ALL to ourselves!!!!
I am going to try and do this again in the Fall, as long as E20 allows me too and everyone that was a racer will get first dibbs at a spot, then it will be opened up to new comers, since I can only have 70 to 75 cars before the price goes through the roof.
Oh, and I was able to get my car running late Friday night after pulling the motor 3 time in 8 days, and tearing down to the block twice, what a week I have had......................Till next time:bigthumb
