I hate Transmission Fluid!!!!! MESSY SH!T !!!!!!

I just dropped the pan in my van today to just do a simple fluid change and in the process of draining it simply found every way possible to not make it into the oil drain pan and on me! Then after I got the pan unbolted and then noticed that with out taking off the exhaust the pan would not drop. I frankly was not in the mood for an Exhaust leak ( seems to happen every time I mess with exhaust) so I just drained it the best I could.

All in all I got it finished but managed to probably ruin my pants and shirt I was wearing. But my question is that why in the hell doesn't all the auto manufacteres make a drain plug for transmissions. Would make it a hell of alot cleaner and easier to do. At least then It would get all over the place.

Install a drain plug in it. It takes like ten minutes and then you have no messes

Could be worse.... could be gear oil! Then you would have a mess that's harder to clean up, and an awful smell!

It looks like a murder scene over at my Dads garage. I forgot to put the speedo sensor back in the tailshaft section of my AOD,and filled it with fluid. Holy crap what a mess.

I think atf runs in my veins, I did get it honest, both my real father and stepfather who raised me were involved in transmissions.

Alan, i remember you telling me, No matter how many times it happens it still makes you mad everytime it runs down in your armpit.

Avoid the armpit mess by tying some rags around your forearms. ;)

Nothing wrong wrong with toasted gear lube, smoked ATF, or sickly sweet antifreeze, they all smell the same as in money! :)

Edit: I hate brake fluid. Dries out my hands something awful, plus it doesn't clean up worth a shit.
