So i finally got the GT back out and she is all over the place these days. Never really noticed until i got the cobra with 5k miles on it a couple years back...

So my question is should i just replace the tie rods from the steering rack all the way to the spindle ? (inner and outer) or is there a specific part that normally goes bad?

she has 186k miles on her... and there is some play in the steering wheel

Also i found remen Racks with new inner tie rods already on them for like 200 bucks .... would that be a better option?

It is best to just crawl under the car with it up on jack stands and move the wheels in and out to see what is flopping around. I highly doubt it to be the rack, tie rods are a good candidate. Check your ball joints, strut mounting bolts, sway bar bushings etc.

If you are running wider tires it may feel a bit "twitchy" especially in truck ruts on the highway. It may be something as simple as needing alignment as well.
