i'm take my car apart right now put a e cam in the car and explore intake i got all the way down to taking the stock cam out and there was some front to back play i was wondering if the cam shound move front to back and if so how much shound it move thank for the help

.002-.009 is what your looking for without a groove pattern in the thrust plate. I always measure this withouth the timing chain or sprocket on so i can get an accurate reading without the timing chain making it seem tighter..
