Seems there is a bill to do away with front plates. It's about time Ohio gets with it. New cars are not manufactured to have one. Hopefully it passes.

i got pulled over for this and got just a warning but i think that front plates are pointless. i hope this passes, i just cant justify drilling holes in any kind of car that isnt a beater to mount a plate.

I hope it goes through this time. It was brought up in the legislature before but my understanding is the OHP opposed it so it didn't happen despite having the potential to save the state millions.

I can tell you from a previous hit and run that front license plates can help catch assholes. Officer just laughed when I showed him the front plate on the ground where dude hit me and took off. Oops.

Even though this helped me, I still hope they change the law.

I hope this passes! I hate front plates, OHP uses them for their lazer guns, so they'll be cryin if they go away. I say forget them, the savings of millions over making two plates a car will more than justify it in this economy.

I wonder if you'll still get two when you buy plates?

And if registration/renewal costs will get cut in half? right...

NXcoupe said it exactly right!

Stnagman- I vote we start a petition, saying it'll save Ohio the money to only sell one.. Oh, and reduce the cost of overpaid prisoners. LOL

Besides.. motorcycles are only required to have one.. jus' sayin

They will get strong opposition from LEO orginizations. They help catch hit skip folks, when the front plate is left on scene. Everyone screaming about cutting costs.... Half the price for the state to produce them sounds like a good move.

No way in hell the cost of a plate will get cut if they pass this. They will probably come up with an excuse to raise it even more.

I thought I saw something the other day about raising something by $10, it might have been a titling fee.

I meant it will save the state money, not us. That would be a miracle.
