motorcycle chain help

i'm putting a new chain on my gsxr 750 and i need the master link tool to press it. i was wondering if anyone on here would have one i could use i live in middletown please let me know my number is 765-821-0672 thank you

I thought I had one but I might have let it go with the bike. Harbor Frieght has a decent one thats cheap.

Fastnotch and i use a pit posse kit, works awesome! I have used a c clamp in a pinch before, just gotta make sure it presses the rivets even and doesent get all wobberjawed. A good set of channel locks will compress the link down enough to get the c clamp on it...

^^^ I used the c-clamp method on my dirtbike back in the day. Seemed to work ok. Good luck

I used vice grips on my quad when it broke but throwing a chain on a quad is a bit different than doing it on a bike. Go to harbor freight and get the tool.

Good luck with it bud. I wish I had the tools but prostock performance in miamitown do all my bike work for me.

prostock is who we deal threw on alot of the stuff but we do alot of the work they just dynoed the bikes a few weekends ago

Lol I'm running a clip type on a 200+hp bike and have had no issues with it:bigthumb

I wont say anything bad about the clip type but I had this happen on my 1982 Yammaha 550 Maxim. Age and 25k miles.I allways carried a spare after that, along with a multi tool to fix it. Now I have a shaft drive so no need.

Damn, Installer error sir...... Just playing, But miles on a chain will do that to any type of clip. I had it happen to me on 1 wheel. Talk about a bad time. :D

It was the original chain/link. I replaced the chain before riding again. Mine broke on the hill leading out of Petersburg to 275. I turned and rolled to a safe place and some guy stopped to see if he could help and turned out that he had a masterlink at his house. I was back on the road 20 minutes later.

I've had good luck but heard some horrer stories too. A broken chain is a great way to lock up the wheel, or crack a case.
