Coil Pack Question

A bud of mine has a 98 explorer, 6 banger. He thinks his coil pack is starting to go bad, 245K+. What I would like to know is, will a 6 banger stang or a 6 banger t-bird coil pack fit the explorer? Thanks

from what I can tell they both will work on a 3.0l and a 4.2l but they dont seem to work with eachother. Either way the price diff new is only 5$. Im not positive that they wouldnt work with eachother, so maybe someone else will shed more light.

the fact that the design is completely different Id still guess no, and the fact that you can grab a used one for 30$ I dont know why you wouldnt just buy the right one.

Well I have an extra one that I was goin to give him if they were interchangable, but if not then he will need to get the explorer coil pack. Thanks.
