Picked a used UPR k member and I went to mock everything up last night after removing the stock suspension ( which went smoothly for the first time, ever). Come to find out my Flaming river steering rack doesnt like my UPR k member but the OEM unit is fine. Called UPR and they gave me the "uhhhhh that things F'ing old!" and had no solutions other than ordering a new K member. Flaming river said the same.
I feel like a kid with that box with the different shapes on it and the little wooden shapes go through the matching holes, only I have the wrong box and wrong peices so I have to use a really big hammer.....

Or sell it to me and I'll use a factory power rack on it!
With the offset rack bushings some people have to take a little bit off the inside of the holes of the rack with a roll sander.

agree with everyone above. I have run into that before and a set of offset rack bushings always cures it. Should be able to get them from any number of places online or call up Dayton perfomance they might have them in stock

Should have mentioned I DO NOT want nor will run offset rack bushing. Look how thing that bushing is, I would rather weld the rack to the K member haha.

I'm assuming you meant thin. You do realize the stock bushings are rubber where most of the aftermarket offset rack bushings are polyurethane or MM actual makes metal offset rack bushings. Offset rack bushings is the correct way to do it. You're not even getting that much strain at those points, it's just where the steering rack mounts to.

bushing are there to soak up vibrations, I have used offset bushing before and I got horrible vibration in the steering wheel. After swapping out wheels and steering columns i found the bushing in the thinest part had torn ( yes energy suspension bushing) and the rack was sitting metal on metal almost bouncing around. That thickest part had basically become a wedge holding the rack in place.
I have never seen a rack like this especially with the rack studs that for offset to the drivers side.

I'm thinking you may have torn them during install or had other problems. I put them on my car way back when and the steering felt way better to me compared to stock. That was with the stock shaft rag joint too.
Regardless, here are metal bushings from MM if you're worried about it:

If your car is lowered, you should have offset bushings anyway. You want the rack to come back up so you can maintain suspensions geometry.

I have one of those on my car. They had about 200 of them come in with the rack tubes welded on in correctly. I called them and they sent me offset rack bushings to fix it. It's still that way today. I am going to call them I think and get a new one and replace this one, as I am running into fitment problems with my new headers since the rack moves the shaft over towards the engine.
