Hot Rod Power Tour 2011

So I am in the beginning stages of planing my trip on the HRPT. I am hoping to get others that want to get out and spend a week driving thier car accross the country with something around 4000 other gearheads. It is pretty much a at speed parade from point to point with a party and the end of each day. The route and dates are listed below. If interested I will be booking hotels most likely by the end of Jan. and can help (plus the more together make it safer and sometimes cheaper.) Also this year ends a short drive from home and hits some cool spots (Indy speedway being one (last time I went we got to make laps on the Bristol speedway, I bet indy is the same)

I have read about this for years. I dont think I would do the whole tour. What are your plans. I would do Nashville to Indy.

My buddy and I are doing all of if but have a few people meeting up in Tn. I think Bill from here is one of them. I am also going to be in the same hotels and the guys from Bangshit.com. plus I am working on getting interest from other Ohio boards as well.

Yep we are in. Gonna start in Montgomery, probably leave Sat. to go see some friends down there first. Guess I should look at my car and see if it needs anything:lol:

Steve, there is usually a couple THOUSAND cars!!!! A huge show everyday at each different venue(city). Pretty much on your own or with a group of peeps that you have maybe met along the way. We had a nice group of about 5 cars we rolled with 2 years back. or you can do it when you get to your first stop. Doing it before is like 5 bucks cheaper.

I went to this 2 years ago when it came through dayton at UD arena and it was by far the best car show ive ever been to even if there wasn't any awards. Tons of free stuff and great cars. it was crazy to see Indy cars turning off the on ramp and cops just directing them where to go (obviously not a street legal car lol
) if i ever get my money pit finished i will definiatly hit atleast one of the locations.

Thinking about the doing the stretch from Music city to Motown with you. Could you post up each specific hotel and location you will be staying at? That would allow people to book reservation near you and stay together if they so desire. Thanks.

I will be going to Nashville and back tracking to Indy. I am actually going to Nashville for a few days before the show though. Staying at the Ramada on the back side of LP field. Not a glamorous place but it is conviently located and fairly cheap. Just a couple blocks from Broadway !

I think I know that place. Had a guitar shaped swimming pool and 70s style rooms?

Hmmm.... If the turbo setup on the noisy Volvo proves to me that it is up to such things, I am rather tempted to get involved.
