I just got the PSS SPECTRACOAT ES01-H POWDER COATING SYSTEM from Powder Buy the Pound. So far it has been a good buy and I'm enjoying it alot, just need to start doing some different colors other than black and chrome
I've learned so far if you mess up and have to redo (sandblast) the part, it takes alot to take it off. For an example, I was doing my air cleaner lid and shot it in chrome, realized I had some blistering so I decided I was gonna blast it off...um yeah right, now I know why Kenny uses the stripper. You can get it off with blasting it but it can take a while. So now I'm starting to become more cautious with my preps and the final outcome of the part.

This is my old breather cover I thought I practice on
Before, cleaning and blasting
20114
After, Base coat is Bonded and Extruded Chrome w/Candy Red for the top coat.
There is some pitting but what can you do with something that is 25+ years old, still turned ok.

Is there any way to fill the lettering in on the valve covers?

You can buy plain ones just like them for $40. For that kind of money not worth the hassle.

You can just do the lettering, but since I'm new at this, I'm not really sure how some people do it. Some have their own techniques, it's just a matter of playing around more and figuring it out for myself. But yeah, it can be done.

Did he mean fill the lettering like getting rid of it or doing it in a different color?

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant, unless I'm missing something
I know what your saying too Kenny, those come with black lettering, I think, for what it would cost you to have someone p/c em it would be cheaper just to buy a pair with it already done, unless you were going to have something crazy done.
