It pisses me off and it didn't even happen to me.

+1, its sad what a worthless pos will do to someone for probably nothing of great value. Hopefully the guy that did this will get killed by one of his pos friends or die a painful slow death soon. Or atleast get beat within an inch of his life let him go through a painful recovery and then get beaten all over again
and shot several times, i F**ckin hate people anymore! Cant trust anyone! Sorry for the mini rant! Hope your buddy gets back to normal as much as someone could after an event like this.

Hey, hope he is doing better. I'm a Dayton cop too, and know his dad. He was meeting the guy in west Dayton. It sounds like the dirtbags, got him to go to the meeting place of their choice(ie. the crime scene) If you sell anything on CL, just meet them at the place of your choice, make it public and have some friends with you. The crews found his bike and another, and chased the shit out of them. The d-bag ditched the bike and got away in a car. I assure you DPD is working hard to nail these guys.

I dont buy or sell without taking a roscoe with me. Today I went to lima with my trusty Glock 27.
I'm legal of course. Been 7 years now.

Its hard to trust anyone anymore. I always try to sell here first then craigslist. I never meeting at my house though. Usually work since I work off beechmont.

I wish your buddy a speedy recovery, and hope those assholes get what they deserve.

Since MOST gas stations have quite a few cameras due to drive off/no pays I try to meet there.

I've never listed anything on CL and only bought off there 2-3 times.

I've never had any problems buying/selling on CL but keep hearing more of these kind of stories everyday. I hope your buddy recovers. I definitely won't be going anywhere with out my CCW if I'm buying off CL anymore.

Sorry to hear about your buddy. That is one thing that makes this site great, unless someone is two post wonder you can check their posts and make sure they aren't a derilict.

I always carry when dealing with any transaction on here or another site. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Only guys from this site I know come to my home everyone else is a monitored public meeting place.

Its sad that in this day and age you have to to formulate a tactical plan to purchase a torque wrench from another human being. People leading that type of life generally don't last long. I was shaken down for $80 one night several years ago. After going to the police station and picking him out from a mug book nothing happened. Months later a detective calls me questioning me since the tool bag was found with a lead pill... Since I have never helped anyone (when solicited on the street). Im not much of one for turning the other cheek but what goes around does come around.

Hope your buddy makes a miraculous recovery and his assailant's become floaters.

Fuggin garbage! My woman gets pissed at me everytime she finds out I have the 40 stuffed in the seat with me. I always tell her of things like this happening, and she doesent beleive me. Well she's gonna now, and I'd rather spend time in jail for protecting her and myself, then to be taken out by some low rent peice of shit that's just robbing me to make a quick buck to squander on a cheap buzz! Prayers sent to him and his fam, DPD you better get this POS!

It's like craigslist for firearms. Some people are steep on prices but gunbroker or a gun bible can provide value reality checks.

Just an FYI. Carrying a loaded firearm in the car with you is a BIG NO NO.Get your Concealed Carry. That will allow you to carry it loaded in the car.

Just to comment on carrying firearms in the vehicle...know your federal, state, and local regulations on this at all cost. Also helps to know the attitude of the city toward firearms. I learned this the hard way. Try having a CCW and not carrying your firearm during a traffic stop in Cincinnati because you didn't want to leave it in your vehicle during a bearcats game....

Yeah...1hr later I narrowly avoided a trip to the pokey after a threat of taser after being asked many times to exit the vehicle after signing my ticket for running a redlight that didn't exist...got a full pat down, vehicle searched, glove box (locked) broken, lock trunk accessed from back seat via my newly found broken fold down seat and locking panel behind it, rear leather seats lifted from chassis, floor mats flipped, wife removed from car, wife's purse dumped on floorboard, wife fully searched...all to find...NOTHING....The reason for all this? Him seeing my CCDW behind my drivers license when I went to place it back into my wallet. He said I'm supposed to notify them that I'm "NOT" carrying...It's the law to disclose you ARE carrying, which I'm fully aware of.

My GTP looked like it was a chop shop victim...Needless to say I avoid Cincinnati at all costs.

You should have gotten a lawyer and went after them. Sounds like a load of shit on their part. I haven't had to notify yet. Not really looking forward to the day. Also you should carry a voice recorder or camcorder for such a instance. My cell has a good voice recorder that I have set up for easy access for my first notify. When that happens ill notify if I'm carrying or not. Seems like it would keep from something stupid happening.

Yeah, day late and a dollar short all the time. The only proof I had was the dashcam footage that was provided. However, after hours of conversation with the Chief of Police and review of footage the officer was placed on corrective action and pretty much said I had a case...but the key points of the traffic stop were not included (red light being ran, as the dash cam was not on due to blue lights not being turned on). In fact, he did not light me up until I was in motion 2 streets over. Instantly I was pulled over by a Cincy PD and behind him a Hamilton co. Sheriff. I was detoured due to a fire from vine to green street, which is apparently the street they had issues with KY residents buying drugs and hitting the interstate and running from cops. Needless to say, I was likely profiled due to having a loud / fast car and being in one of the grimiest blocks in cincy. Im just not a sue happy kind of person, so hearing the officer was pulled from the street duty and put on paperwork was victory enough I guess.

You dont have to notify them when you arent carrying, just when you one on your person or in the car itself.

A lot of LEOs are un-informed or flat out dont know the laws on a CCW permit and freak out when a firearm is involved. However there are plenty that wont even break a sweat over it.

I find open carry tames most potential dickeads down...I do it every time in Ohio when meeting strangers for parts and everyone has been very cordial after they eyelock onto it!

I wish the best for your friend in his recovery! If he ever wants to go 'huntin' for them, i have access to hundreds of low cost 'clean' throw away firearms for him. Shoot your gun...take out the fuck...then destroy it by melting it down and I know the perfect place for that too. Then the only thing he needs is an airtight alibi.

Open carry in Ohio is PERFECTLY LEGAL.
Now, keep in mind that if you roll down main street or into the local Walmart open carrying, someone WILL call the cops and you will get a rough way to go, and possibly an inducing panic charge.
Just do it with some discretion.

My mom is the same way! If I have a buyer come to the house I have a male neighor come over, I'm well armed, and when I go to someones place, I take someone with me as well as my little friend. I recall stopping at one lady's place last season to look at some camping gear, but I went directly from work. Trying to carry a heavy ass 9mm in nursing scrubs was not easy. She knew it was there, so I just said look, no offense, but a lonely female has to be careful. She said she didn't blame me one bit, but she was glad I wasn't there to shoot her!

I have a similar story, only it ended way better. I live in KY, work in OH. I'm on the way to work, which is a hospital so I don't take my purse. Anywho, cops stops me. I immediately say, " I have a CCW and there's prolly a gun in the vehicle." He asks, "Probably"? I explain my husband had it in there over the weekend and I didn't take it out.
"License and registration please."
"Umm, yeah...I don't have that either." I offered my federal ID badge hanging from my scrub top. Least it has a picture.

So then he says, "Lemme get this straight, I catch you speeding, driving across state lines with no liecense, you admit there's a loaded weapon in the car, you have no driver's license on you, you have no CCW on you? Is that correct?"
"Yeah, I'd say that's about perfect." *Smiling sweetly*
"I'm gonna need you SSN...thanks, wait right here ma'am"

He comes back, tells me I am lucky I have been licensed in OH prior to moving to KY so all my history was found, but that he could take me to jail for driving into another state w/o carrying a license. I tell him that I would absolutely hate to call in incarcerated. He tells me to slow it down and to stop at walmart for a carry wallet on the way home.

NO TICKET, NO WARNING!! woooooooooooT!!!
