I have a friend who recently purchased an old SSP that was being turned into a race car. The car has brand new Welds and tires which he is willing to sell since he does not need them.

1. The rear wheel is 10" wide so other than removing the kicker shocks and rolling the fenders what else would be needed to run these wheels on a fox body?

2. Will they fit if I am lowering the car about 1"?

Thanks for any imput.

1baddlx has 10" welds with DR's on his orange car... fit like a glove. Quadshocks removed of course.

I believe one other thing you have to do is give a light tap to the pinch welds on the inner side of the wheel well.

It's apples to oranges but on my '94 I put the 10.5" Bullitts with 315's and i caught the back corner of the inner fender on the drivers side. Had to put it in it's place :)

15x10" rim with 6.5" backspacing is what I have on my coupe with no wheel spacers. Fender lips are rolled and inner fender is beat in pretty good to fit a 28x10.5" slick or a 275/60/15 dr.

Why not remove the quadshocks and roll the fenders? Does the car have aftermarket upper and lower control arms?

On a 10" wide wheel you really want somewhere very close to 6.0" backspace with stock fox length axles.

Here is a picture of my old blue car with a 15x10 with 6.5 bs and a 26x11.5 ET Street. The fender lip was rolled and the inner fender was massaged a little and no quad shocks.

Thanks guys. These will be for my '88 LX project car so everything is stock currently. I already have the Ford Racing Springs which lower the rear of the car less than 1". I have not picked out any aftermarkert control arms as of yet. I am guessing an adjustable lower set would be best...plus then I can remove the quad shocks without any side to side/ wheel hop issues. Also plan on rolling the fenders before the car is repainted.

Thanks again!

Is there any rubbing issues after that? Are you guys running 275/60r15? I ran those on my 8" Centerlines on my red car, but the offset on the wheels pushed em out just a bit too far and they rubbed the wheel lip, even after being rolled.

Steves LX runs a 295/50/15 on his car, but he's got 8" rims. Those tires will fit just as well with 10's. His only rub ever soo slightly. But if you arent carrying any passengers in the rear you shouldnt have to worry

To get a 28X10.5 or a 275 60 you need to roll the lip and beat the hell out of inner wheelhouse. The worst spot is near the spring perch. Really have to beat it to get clearance. It is possible to make it so there is no rubbing but usually it will rub a small amount while turning especially if you have a spool.

Just mini tub it and put a 325 tire on it. My neighbor can do the mini tub.

Why? These cars have gone in the 7's with bolt on suspension and cages...

It looks cool as hell though!! Thats why I wanted to do mine! A 275/50 fits fine with a 10 inch wheel. I would like to try the 275/60 though.

The tires are MT 325/50/R15's....so I am guessing these would require a lot of beating with a BFH.

Why not do a 295/55/15. Its the same size as a 28x10.5. Its also pretty much the same size as a 325 minus the big section width wich is where you usually get your rubbing from.

The car was never on the road. They were mounted and put on the car and that is where the former owner left them. My friend lives in Maine so he has yet to get a chance to get out and measure the BS yet.

These are a set of "used" wheels and tires I am buying. He is willing to sell them all to me for $800 and the wheels and tires are brand new...just mounted on a car that was rolled back and forth.
