so i got this 89 lx, and it has an exhaust leak, what is the easiest way to get a snapped off bolt out of the head without taking it off, and is there anyone on here that could give me a hand with said bolt? im planning on headers and (i really need) new mufflers, but with that snapped bolt its gonna make it sound just as bad because it isnt sealing :(

why not try losseng up the motor mounts and lift the engine up just enough to get at the broken bolt.

Use a mig to make material to weld a nut to then you can tap the old bolt stud out. Be carefull with a cast iron head because you could weld it to the head. It works good on aluminum heads though.

Pick up a left-handed drill bit at Grainger and drill it out....damn things work better than an easy out (I break those damn things off and you can't drill those out at all). Tim's welding to a nut trick works great too.....and it works better if you can try to torque it out right after you do the weld....all that weld heat helps break the broken bolt loose.
