So I'm looking to get new tires for my wheels...only to find that tire shops that include "free alignment, inflation, rotation, etc..." are jacking the price of their tires up $50-100 each tire making a set of 4 roughly $800-850 out the door if not more if I actually wanted a performance tire. I can order tires from tirerack and then it's just a matter of getting them on, but these places want $25 a tire for mount and balance...it just does not end...and we wonder why the economy is going to the dump.

If you also sell tires: I need a set of sticky 245/45/17 performance dry weather tires mounted and balanced. I will be lowering the car soon, so an alignment now is about useless and I could care less about any other gimmick. I just want the wheel weights to be on the inside of the wheel instead of on the lip.

In fact, the wheels aren't even on a car, so you don't even have to take them off or put them back on. So if you do something like this, and could get me a tire and mount/balance today then let me know and we might do business.

Ok, just ordered my tires from tirerack, they should be in this week according to their site but I'm not getting my hopes up.

What would you charge good sir?

BTW These are being mounted to 99-04 GT Pony wheels.

Yeah, that's very reasonable. I'll give you a shout when the tires make it in. The order confirmation says the 14th or 15th, I'd say they'll be in and ready by this weekend. You can place the weights on the inside right? That's how they were done previously. I just don't like the look of the lip weights. The wheels already have the valve stems in them if that helps cut down on your cost too. Thanks again for the quick response btw.

What's the zip code for where your shop is?

I'm also in need of a mount and balance. Tires are 195/50/16. I'll need to dispose of the old tires as well. Please let me know if anyone is interested.
