At the hospital!

My wife Katy has been in and out of the hospital for the past week with complications with her pregnancy. We thought that we were going to have babies last Wednesday but we made it through ok. She got a round of Steroid injections to help the babies grow. She just hit 30 weeks yesterday. Today we had to go back in to the hospital because she was getting numb in the hands and feet and a headache. Turns out she has a severe case of pre-eclamspsia. The real treatment is to deliver the babies. If her platelet count drops and more tonight they will have to go ahead and deliver the babies. If we make it till tomorrow we will have an ultrasound to check the size and health of the babies and the doctors will make a determination of when they will deliver the babies. We have been told that no matter what the babies will be delivered by the end of the weekend.

Please pray for all 3 of my little women. I can't really let her know how scared I am right now. I need to be strong for her.

best of luck. don't be too scared of the pre mature thing. My son was born at 32 weeks and is doing absolutely great. But it is best to leave them in there as long as possible. Hang in there man

We welcomed into the world Ms. Alexis Rae Stewart at 12:16pm and Ms. Aubrey Paige Stewart at 12:18pm. They are both 14.5 inches long. Lexi is 2lb 7oz and Bre is 2lb 6oz. They are both doing well. One is breathing with the help of a CPAP and the other still needs a ventilator.

What everyone has said so far who has visited is that they don't look like some premi babies do. They just look like minature babies, almost like dolls. They don't look overly skinny or weak. I'll upload some pics when I get permission from the wife. to publish them. Katy is doing great, just working out the cob webs from the anesthesia.
