Has anyone upgraded/bought a phone through Amazon/Sam's Club?

My wife is in need of a new phone and it's upgrade time. She is deadset on getting a DroidX.

Does anyone know how they can sell them so much cheaper then Verizon? And I am talking at least $100 off the price..... Are they refurbs? Fixed factory defects? Brand new?

i would say they are referbs i mean i just got my droid 2 and it cost me 320 but i got 100 back but i got the case a charger and screen protectors and upgraded to the unlimited data plan

Try going threw Best buy. They will give you the price with the mail in rebates already taken off. I did that earlier this year.

Buying power. Upgraded my wife to a Blackberry at Wal-Mart for $150 cheaper then the AT&T Store.
Check with Wal-Mart

If I wasn't having to upgrade her phone, I could be paying 70 vs 140, through Sams Club. AmazonWireless is 120 to upgrade or 50 to have a new line.

Then you have Verizon at 299 with a 100 mail in rebate.

So that is why I ask.

I have found that if you buy from a verizon agent i.e. Cellular Connection, Best Buy, Walmart that if you have issues you will have to send it in... If you buy from the verizon store you can get much better service if you have phone issues.. The 3rd party dealers don't have the ability to just trade out phones like the verizon direct store..

Verizon doesn't just trade them out any more either. My incredible speaker went out. Went to VZW store. They mailed me a refurbished one. Took a few days to get. They only swap you s new phone if its 30 days or newer.

That is one reason the wife needs to upgrade. She is on her third or fourth refurb LG Chocolate and this one if you use it as a phone, sometimes it's like she is talking in a fishbowl.

Wow that's why I like sprint. If my blackberry or the wifes evo breaks we just go in and they give us a new one right there...

what sprint store you going to??? they make me drive a half hour to a "tech" store only to tell me they are going to order a new one and ill have to come back in 3 days to swap it out...

I go to the one right up the street from where I live. I am really hard on my phones so when something happens I take it in they try and fix if they can they swap it out right there. Done it about 8-9 times now. Never had a problem.

I'm hard on mine too, with work and everything. But you must live by one of the tech stores.

Yep about 10min from my house.. We have had sprint for going on like 4-5 years and never had one problem out of them
