I would def like to get a headcount for this summer and figure out someplaces to go.....Nice bikes sean....
I am in but I am in the back. I dont ride with people any more because I got hit in the arm a few times by mirrors because of dumb asses that dont like to stop at red lights. That and a few near miss rear ends by my stupid friends showing off and not paying attention to whats in front of them.
jack90gt
11-11-2010, 03:01 AM
Ahhhh hell no i am in the back too.....I dont like to be that close to another dude,,,,lol
lol. You get that many people theres bound to be a few idiots. I do like watching them but I dont like to be in front of them.

oh yeah we had like 30 over here one day and cruised through town and it was awsome..My wife works at the co jail here as a rn and she got one of the cops to escort us through town but yeah there is always a couple idiots...My buddy does high chairs at 100 so yeah idiots....lol....I just like to cruise is all...Guess thats the old guy coming out of me....
man... i am ashamed of how easy I take it on my gsxr 1000. I dont think I have seen over 7500 rpms.. lol And it has a bunch of money spent on it to make it go fast... lol

shit, summer???/ I rode yesterday will be out at some point today and will be out in the middle of winter. I took an old useless bengals sweatshirt and cut the sleeves about 10 or so inches down from the shoulder. Put that around my neck with the helmet and that part stays nice and warm. You can do that or spend 20 or so dollars on a gater neck.

there are a few big bikes out there but theres something to be said about a newer 600 thats fuel injected too. I really like the newer cbr 600 rr and the r6 and some of the gsxr 600. I think the newer cbr 600 is one of the nicest looking bikes. The big liter bike is fun but kinda useless for daily non flying riding. I will have a busa soon just because I want to be a little less cramped.
jack90gt
11-11-2010, 11:20 PM
I know my 600 and it is fuel injected and my other gixxer 750 was carbed and its a world of difference....Twist the throttle and its gone.....Thinkin about a 1000 or a older 900rr... I asked my wife about a busa and she said HELL NO....She said i would kill myself
97dustang
11-11-2010, 11:25 PM
yea, my 600 is my first bike, and its not that i want/need to go any faster, cuz its pretty quick, i just want something physically bigger. i feel too big on my 600, im 6'2" and 230 lbs
Thats the issue with some of the 1000's They are stuffing big engines in damn near 600cc frames. My gsxr 1000 is about the same size of the 600cc bike.

That was me! lol i picked mine up for 2800. not too shabby in my opinion.
why are you tryin to sell yours sean?
lol Thats a good deal. I would have picked that up too.
I am really not selling mine. I will trade it for the right car or truck but mostly wanting to trade it for a hayabusa. I have had some nice offers but just not the right one yet. I want something just as fast and quick as mine but just a bit bigger. i am to cramped on mine. So I either need to loose weight or get a different bike... I sure am going to miss my gsxr..lol
Also I am all for lowballing. I do it on a regular basis. But I am one of those guys with a perfect bike and I would just not sell it before I give it away. If you have been to any of the fall cruise ins in the last 2 years you have seen my bike... No thanks to the people taking pics since they went right past my bike but still got a pic of marks damn conquest.. But I am not bitter. Any way if you have seen it you know you will not find a nicer 05 gsxr 1000... So I am not giving it away.
damn I think that was a bit of a rant...lol

Well the 2000-2003 GSXR was the most comfy body ever made on them. After that they get skinnier and shorter every year, which makes it rough on us bigger guys. I love my 02 1000, ant it's decently comfy, but my Busa is my "goldwing" lol. Plus that bikes just a blast to launch, 5500 and dump the clutch/pin the throttle and hold on lol. A gsxr 1000 set up just right will work a busa over, proven fact. But for riding I like the big boy. Whoever said a 1000 or busa is too much for daily riding, needs to do more riding lmao, hell a stock 1k or busa isint enough for me anyways lol...

Most of the times, but if the busa is dialed in and has a good rider it can do some damage. I let my buddies 14 yr old son run mine last time out and he spanked another light weight rider on an 05 1k, and an 06 1k lol. But the 1k's are a better 1/4 bike than the busa in stock trim. Thats why I have both lol. a heavily modded 1k and a soon to be turbo'ed busa:D

jack90gt
11-12-2010, 06:54 PM
Yeah probally better to sell it outright. I have a buddy that wants it bad. Just trying to figure out what I want to sell it for. Miles are low no dents scratches new shinkos battery and devil dual exhaust( sounds badass)
trading in something is always tough. But yea, you may want to get an idea of what is important to you in a bike. Are you into the twisties or do you need something that when you hit the gas you have to hold the fuck on? The r1 is a great bike and fast as hell. At least the 2000 I had was fast. Have you ever been on a cruiser? I really like riding my shadow. Its a lot different as far as seat position and the ride in general. If you go the cruiser route if its a chain drive get at least a 750. If its shaft 1100cc or bigger or its a pig. Figure out what you may like. Or do what I did and get both. I just got back from a ride on the shadow and had the gsxr out yesterday. Its nice to have both.

alright, i'll count you in lol
they have another run that is the four corners of the country in a week. start in maine, to florida, to cali, to washington and back to maine. and you have to be at the checkpoints by a certain time. and for bonus points you can take bonus trips, where you go to checkpoints that are off the route and then make it to the main checkpoint still on time, im not sure im up for that one but im gonna try the 24 hour ride. shouldnt be too bad. i figure a 10 min stop every 150 miles or so, then i'll have to average 72 mph the rest of the way.
lol you better make sure you can get 150 miles out of a tank of gas. I know the gsxr I have doesnt and I dont think the shadow does either.

never touched a bike until I took the MSF course in nov 07... I got this in summer of 08
2 low sides and 20k later....get the knee down on the street and wheelie the hell out of it. 2nd gear went out this summer. common on CBR transmissions. time for a new bike. Have my eye on 3. 2006+ R6(not the S model), 2004-2008 R1, and 2006+ triumph daytona 675. Leaning towards the 675. Will keep my CBR and replace 2nd gear and shift fork. Working on setting up a track day rig and trailer. My heart's in the twisties for sure.

anyone want to do the iron butt trip next year? im gonna do it on a sportbike lol i may not be able to walk for a week after its done but damnit i want to do it lol
You don't have to go on a particular trip to do an Iron Butt. I did one about 5 years ago riding from Cincinnati to Sault Ste. Marie and back. 1000 miles in less than 24 hours. I did it on my Ducati 900SS/SP. :coo1:

it was, first low side at about 50mph...front tire caught a sand pit in the middle of the road. That was end of the season in 08. Trashed the fairings and the forks. Then at end of season in 09 I did the same thing on merwin 10 mile down by that really tight right hander heading towards new richmond which prompted the gold wheels, 600rr swinger, and all new red paint. latest is the first pics I posted above from this season.
Already put it away for the winter. Got in about 8000 miles this year from may to october. During the summer I went weeks without driving a car. Rain or shine I ride...rain riding is ample opportunity to practice backing it in through corners :bigthumb
You sound like you wreck a lot. You riding like that on public roads?

I lowsided twice in 20,000 miles over the past 3 seasons. Both in gravel/sand in the road. If you take your sport bike on some spirited rides thru some country back roads it's bound to happen. There's always the occasional debris kicked up from cars and what not. A few times this season the front washed out a little but I learned how to save her.
2 low sides is hardly wrecking a lot...I'm glad I got them out of the way and got back on, motorcycle crashes are a learning experience no class can simulate
I just prefer to not wreck...

Is that top pic a 250cc 2 stroke bike? Just guessing from your screen name, if so, what's specs on that? How's the acceleration compared to a more common I-4 bike?

No kidding, mines slammed in the weeds and 8 over, but I still make it look small lol. Most folks think it's a 600 til I start it up lol...
Yea. Mine is lowered quite a bit too. Also with it being an 05 its already smaller. I get sick of people looking at it and asking if its a 600. Even had some guy ask if it was an 800???
jack90gt
11-18-2010, 12:59 AM
Damn that is way to low for me......Wtf he asked if it was a 800?????/Did you slap him,,,
Mines down 2 inches or so. I know this because i can touch with both feet. Never been able to do that on a sport bike. When dude asked if it was an 800 I did pause for a moment and picture slapping him a bit, lol then just said no its a 1000. He was just trying to fit in and act like he knew something about bikes.

My knees are bent nicely when mines strapped down. Hell my busa sets lower than that lol. But thats how you launch it hard as hell lol. I get em to drag, and set em up accordingly, and thats what you gotta do. One of these days I'm gonna get a bike ald leave it stock wb and height just to hit the twists and ride some wheelies on... One of these days lol...
jack90gt
11-18-2010, 01:41 AM
Haha key words one of these days. Right??? Lol
I have thought of raising mine back up so i can turn faster but since I am no good at turning on sport bikes I guess i will leave it be...

11-18-2010, 02:07 AM
i like the look of lowered bikes alot but i think im way too tall to lower mine any, its at stock height and i can flat foot both feet :/ plus i enjoy conering fast too much to lower it, but your guys' bikes definately have an awesome stance

I get that alot since the bike is shorter then a ZX6 people ask if thats what it is. It plainly says ZX10R right on the tail section.
I can set mine up high or drop in on the tire with the adjustable links on back but it is to low to really turn when its all the way down so I keep it in the middle

There see... Thats how much I know. I was told mine has some pricey adjustable links too but I have no idea what the hell that means or how to adjust them. I swear, I have no right owning something like this. I get on it and ride it. How do I know if I have a set up where I can raise it and lower it like that? With out a tool?
347sc
11-18-2010, 03:18 AM
Mine have 3 differnt holes in the link bars, some are like turnbuckles that you turn up or down. Yours should attach to the bottom of the rear shock so take a look and see what kind the are. Pretty easy to raise either way.
I will look tomorrow and let you know. Thanks

I used to have one of those, great bikes! I remember I bought it for $700, and the same day I smoked my buddy on his brand new buell with it lmao! x2 on the matching lids, I paint one for all the bikes I paint as long as the owner wants one. The last two were for my busa "The Punisher" and my girls "Coach" GSXR...
I really like the idea of a custom painted lid. I did see one that had like 3d reflective skulls on it but I forget who makes it. Anyone seen that one? Wasnt expensive at all. Like 160?
